This research was conducted to mediate the role of self-kindness in the relationship between fear of negative evaluation and social phobia of medical students.

Methods: This study utilized structural equation modeling to conduct correlational research. The study's statistical population included all doctoral students of medical sciences in Yazd during the academic year 2021-2022. The sample size of 250 people was determined, and sampling was done by voluntary sampling method. The research tools included the social phobia scale, fear of negative evaluation, and the short form of the self-kindness scale, which was published online. Finally, the data of 227 students were analyzed by Pearson correlation and structural equation model.

Results: The results showed that the direct effect of fear of negative evaluation on social phobia (β = 0.353; p value = 0.001), the direct impact of self-kindness on social phobia (β = 0.230; p value = 0.037), and the direct effect of fear of negative evaluation on self-kindness (β = 0.410; p value = 0.001) was significant. Also, the bootstrap results showed that the indirect impact of fear of negative evaluation on social anxiety through self-kindness (β = 0.094; p value = 0.019) was also significant.

Conclusion: Strengthening self-kindness can reduce the fear of negative evaluation and improve students' social phobia.
2025-01-31T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Zabol Medical Schoolhttps://publish.kne-publishing.com/index.php/jzms/article/view/17721Design, Implementation and Evaluation of the Logbook from the Viewpoints of Operating Room Faculty Members and Students2025-02-02T08:02:25+00:00Mahboobe Doostkaminone@none.com.irFereshteh Sargolzaeinone@none.com.irNajmeh Ghiamikeshtgarnone@none.com.irFereshteh Ghaljaenone@none.com.irSadegh Dehghanmehrnone@none.com.ir
Background: Periodic evaluation of the content and quality of logbooks based on the changing needs of students as the target group and professors as the group of logbook designers is considered essential. Therefore, the present study aims to design, implement, and evaluate logbooks from the perspective of professors and students of operating room technology.

Methods: This research is a cross-sectional descriptive study conducted on the professors and students of the operating room of Zahedan College of Nursing and Midwifery in the academic year of 2022. All the professors working in the operating room who were involved as instructors of the departments from the beginning of the implementation of the log book (10 people) and all the students of the operating room who, at the time of conducting the research, had the experience of using the log book during their internship or cruise in the clinical departments and They had an operating room (60 people), they were investigated by census method.

Results: The average final satisfaction score of professors was significantly higher than that of students, which indicates that professors have a more positive view of the logbook than students (p value˂ 0.05).

Conclusion: Based on the findings, students and instructors were satisfied using logbooks in the operating room. However, it seems that the logbook is not effective in providing feedback to students. Therefore, it is suggested to improve the logbook items while improving it.
2025-01-31T12:50:17+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Zabol Medical Schoolhttps://publish.kne-publishing.com/index.php/jzms/article/view/17722Update on the Prevalence of Urinary Stones Based on the Site of Formation (Kidney, Ureter, And Bladder) in Patients Referred to Zabol Hospitals2025-02-02T08:02:59+00:00Hamid Reza Ghaffarinone@none.com.irJavad Poursamiminone@none.com.irYahya Ehsanollahinone@none.com.irPouya Baghi Sham Asbinone@none.com.ir
Background: Urinary stones are hard deposits of salts and minerals in the urinary tract, and their formation depends on various factors, including people's lifestyle. Numerous reports have evaluated the prevalence of urinary stones in different parts of Iran. This study provided an update on the previously mentioned research.

Methods: This descriptive-analytical epidemiological study examined 309 cases of patients suffering from urinary stones referred to the Zabol hospitals in 2019-2021.

Results: The frequency of men (68%) was higher than that of women (32%). The mean age of men (39.9 ± 1.02 years) was also higher than that of women (37.6 ± 1.4 years). The distribution of stone formation by location was as follows: kidney 52.1%, ureter 34.3%, and bladder 13.6%. The distribution of occupations among participants was as follows: employees 23.9%, students 5.8%, housewives 18.4%, self-employed 38.2%, unemployed 5.8%, and retired individuals 7.8%. Among the subjects, 6.8% had diabetes, 8.4% had hypertension, 17.5% were obese, 9.4% had both hypertension and diabetes, 3.9% had hypertension and obesity, and 3.6% had obesity and diabetes. Like any other method, it has some advantages and disadvantages. This study aimed to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of telemedicine.

Methods: This review study aimed to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of telemedicine, focusing on internal medicine, general surgery, urology, and otolaryngology. Articles in Pubmed and Medline databases with the keywords "telemedicine," "telehealth," "internal medicine," "general surgery," "urology," and "otolaryngology" from 2020 to 2024 were reviewed.

Results: Based on the information obtained from the studies, patients and doctors in various fields tended highly to use telemedicine. In internal medicine, most of the visits, management, and treatment protocols were accessible by telemedicine. In the surgical fields, most studies focused on pre- and post-operative visits, and the results of most studies were satisfactory. The benefits of telemedicine, according to the studies, included reducing the costs of the healthcare system, saving time for the doctor and the patient, saving the distance traveled for the patient, and improving the quality of the visit, similar to an in-person visit. The disadvantages of telemedicine in these studies included the inability of the doctor to perform physical examination, the lack of feeling between the patient and the doctor, and the lack of quality of video and audio communication.

Conclusion: Telemedicine can be used as an optimal method in medicine, but its disadvantages also need to be addressed.
2025-01-31T13:03:42+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Zabol Medical School
