Abstract

Considering the advancement of science and knowledge, we are faced with sedentary life style, which has caused strange changes in human's life and affected their inefficiency. Some of the effective recent factors on human health include food contamination and the wrong culture of food consumption, which causes people to develop diseases that are medically unknown. In this regard, our individuals are at a great health risk because no formal measure has ever been taken to deal with these destructive issues. Therefore, this study was carried out to re-conceptualize the nutrition index of the food pyramid to create and maintain health with an Islamic approach in order to treat the food-borne diseases. This qualitative and library-based research was conducted using the content analysis method to extract and conceptualize the related verses, declarations, traditions, and narratives.  Despite the careful and delicate attention of Islam to nutrition and food, many factors have been neglected by Muslims including: temperament, age, gender, season, climate, weather, food diversity, food proportion, food balance, healthy eating, amount of eating, meal distance, place of eating, eating time, eating solvent, tasty, and good foods, prohibited meals, prohibited foods, reasons for prohibition of lunch, and reasons for prohibition of eating fruits after meals. Furthermore, we are faced with new types of incurable diseases that decrease the quality of life and life expectancy. Unfortunately, new scientific findings have not addressed the issue of nutrition appropriately. Based on the results, in order to solve the current problems in nutrition and foods, we need to  raise the people's  awareness and create a culture of deep attention to Quranic and Islamic recommendations regarding nutrition.
