Abstract

This letter highlights the risk of cutaneous fungal infections transmitted through indoor swimming pools in Yazd Province during summers. Studies on Yazd pools showed 68.8% surface contamination (1) and 7% dermatophyte positivity including Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Epidermophyton floccosum (2), mainly in changing rooms, saunas, and footbaths. Recommendations include regular environmental health inspections, residual chlorine monitoring (1–3 mg/L), pH control (7.2–7.8), educational posters, staff training, and physician awareness to prevent a silent fungal epidemic.
