Statement of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Foundation for Medical Wisdom, History, and Ethics Condemning Attacks on Iran’s Civilian Medical, Scientific, and Educational Institutions, Particularly the Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab

Abstract

Healthcare, scientific, and educational centers constitute fundamental pillars of social life, and their protection is strongly emphasized within the framework of international humanitarian law. Any attack against these centers and any harm inflicted on civilians - particularly children and patients - constitute a clear violation of fundamental principles such as distinction, proportionality, humanity, and precaution. Such actions, in addition to endangering public health and societal security, represent a breach of the basic norms of the international humanitarian law.
